Ocean Acidifcation is a very serious issue that isn’t getting any attention in the media, as far as I can see.  It’s clear to any oceanographer that our oceans’ chemistry have been significantly changed by the addition of carbon from fossil fuels, causing ocean acidity to increase.  There are startling warning signs that demonstrate how ‘un-healthy’ our oceans are becoming.  For me, the issue is annalagous to the classic metaphor of ‘Canaries in a Coal Mine’.  If our oceans are being acidified at a rapid pace, then aren’t there much bigger problems on the horizon?
